Hey Guys, Today's review is on a new product from Morphe. Their new Brontour compacts. This is available from their website for £12. It comes in 6 different shades. Glitterati, Frenemy, Celebutante, Vlogger, Fantabulous and Showmance. With it being available in 6 different shades it really does cater to everyone from fairer skin to those with a deeper complexion. I have a medium skin tone but I went for the lightest of 6 shades Glitterati. The reason I went for the lightest is I liked the colour of the bronzer in the lightest one. Morphe have recently changed up their packaging and I love the new look! It is simple yet stylish and sleek. I love simple packaging when it is doene properly. Each Brontour has a mirror inside and I have to say it's a good quality one. Perfect for travelling with. Each brontour is split into 2 shades one is for contouring and the other is a bronzer, they are in one pan and pressed together, if you have a large fluffy brush this can make picking up the desired product harder as it goes into the other side very easily. The 2 shades in Glitterati are; matte sand and shimmering champagne. When I used this the matte sand shade was perfect for a soft contour without being to harsh which I'm quite liking at the moment. The Shimmering champagne side was like a slightly bronzed highlighter, it added some sparkle and warmth to the contour, I'm not sure I'm going to use the bronzer side as much as to me it's more of an awkward mix between bronzer and highlighter. The product itself is so buttery, it blends gorgeously and defines the face without leaving me look muddy. It blended really well with the other products used. It looked perfect from the moment it was put on right until I removed the make up more than 8 hours later. My final thoughts on the product. I give this a 7/10, mainly because I absolutely loved the contour side, it lasted beautifully and really gave me a beautifully soft but defined look. The bronzer side left me a little disappointed as it wasn't really something I would use. However with it only being £12 and most contours and bronzers being double that in price, its definitely something I recommend if your looking for a good contour shade. This look I used the Glitterati duo, it gave a beautiful soft contoured look. I loved how it contoured the nose without being obvious.
Until Next Time, Hey Guys, Today's post is all about Benefit's newest product their Hello Happy Soft Blurring Foundation which retails for £25.50 for 1 fluid oz, from their website, House Of Faser and Debenhams. Having caused a controversy with Benefit only releasing 12 shades of their newest foundation, compared to brands like Fenty who have launched 40 shades and is all inclusive. However 12 shades for a sheer/lightweight foundation shouldn't be compared to a full coverage range which needs to be a more exact match to customers skin. Sheer foundation means that 1 shade can work for different skin tones, each shade is fairly neutral and therefore will work with a wider range of skin tones. Benefit also stated that out of the 12 shades we have 3 light, 5 medium and 4 deep. Meaning the range is fairly spread out and will cater to a variety of people. I was lucky enough to get a sample when I visited my local Debenhams, I had enough to do my foundation over a few days, to give it a fair trial. This foundation truly is lightweight and is infused with smooth spherical beads that softly diffuse which creates a blurring effect. I 100% agree that it has a blurring effect and helps to minimise the look of pores. It looked to me more like a dewy finish then matte, it had a very radiant finish and gave a gorgeous natural glow effect. The first time I used it I did just 1 coat and really felt like it barely did anything other than add some radiance. It really looked more like a BB cream. I then went onto build it up over the next few days, which it did without problem, it then offered more coverage but too me personally it just didn't do enough for me to fall in love with this foundation. I could still see my dark circles under my eyes, any small imperfection I had where poking out through the coverage and it didn't really even my skin tone out which is a major downside. The foundation oxidises slightly once it dries down. It doesn't crease and works well with concealers which is a plus. I think if you are into lightweight and barely there foundation this will be right up your street, but for me it just didn't do enough. It feels very lightweight in fact it barely feels like you are wearing anything, it wasn't transfer proof at all though and when applied with a brush it was patchy compared to better coverage with the beauty blender. I do like the packaging, is fun and the little smiley face is adorable. The pink metallic is gorgeous and very eye catching. Over all I give this foundation a 4/10. I love the way it felt on the skin, especially on these hot summer days. It really did have a blurring effect which I liked and the radiant finish was a big plus, I also liked the packaging although slightly childlike. It's downsides; It smelt like chemicals, extremely badly enough to put you off, it did die down once it started to dry,. It didn't cover my dark circles or even my skin tone. It oxidised a little orange, and was fairly patchy on the skin. Personally this foundation isn't for me and I wont be purchasing it. Until Next Time, Hey Guys! Today's post is one I have been so excited to write about, Kiko Milano's new Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette. Since I went shopping in Bristol and went in a Kiko Milano shop I have fallen in love and can't wait to try more of their products. So let's jump straight into the review! This palette is extremely affordable at just £16.90, available in Kiko stores and their online store. There are 2 different variations on the palette, the first called Matte Revolution. Which as you can imagine from the name holds 12 matte shades from pale pinks to deep browns. I however went for the other palette. The Shocking Sparkle Shades which really caught my eye, with 12 stunningly sparkly shades it's hard not to fall in love with it! The packaging is very sleek and black, I love that it comes with a mirror on the inside, perfect for travelling! Above you can see the palette both with and without the flash on the camera. The flash really does make the colours pop but it looks beautiful in both! Photo's really don't do this palette justice. This palette has 12 gorgeous sparkly shades ranging from deep and dark black with silver glitter to deep blues and pale nudes that feel like butter! These shadows are a dream to work with. They feel so creamy and buttery, there is barely any fall out which I love! They apply beautifully and with a lot of pigment as you can see from the swatches down below. They blend out nicely and work well with mattes from other brands. As long as you wear a primer before using these shadows then they are longwearing and don't crease. I can honestly say I am so impressed with this palette! Before I purchased this I was a Kiko virgin so I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to say that this exceeded all my expectations! This palette gets a 9/10 the only reason I have marked it down is because I fee like the packaging could of been more eye catching (I am a packaging whore!!) The actual shadows work amazingly, they are some of the creamiest shadows I have worked with. They last all day looking perfect right until you take it off. It didn't crease or cause any irritation. The pigmentation is crazy good and rivals that of Juvia's Place (Click here for a review on the Nubian Palette) I can't believe how well they perform and they don't even give you fall out! I am so excited to go and try some more of their products and I hope they bring out some more sparkly palettes! I hope you enjoyed the post lovelies! Until Next Time, P.s The total for the "How Much Was My Face" Dior Addition is a whopping - £409.50 - Who guessed correctly or was close?! Let Me Know, KL x
Hey Guys, Last week I took a trip to House Of Fraser's Dior counter in Plymouth and saw the amazingly talented Sophie. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel so welcome, we talked about some new products, which Sophie later used to create such a gorgeous look. I thought it would be a fun post to see how much the look ended up costing, giving me the title "How much is my face worth?" (You can take a guess on my latest Instagram post) So we are going to take a look at the products used and give you some first impressions along the way. So let's jump straight in. We started off by moisturising the face with their new Capture Youth Moisturiser, this retails for £75 for 50ml of product. I was given a small pot to try and a week later it is still half full. A little really does go a long way, it feels really gentle on my skin. Since using this moisturiser my skin has looked smoothed, toned and has a natural glow. I am a huge fan of this moisturiser, I give it a 8/10 the only downside is the price. Although if your big into skincare I do recommend giving it ago or if your unsure then maybe go and ask for a small sample. We then went onto prime the face using the Forever and ever primer, which retails for £30.50 for 30ml. This primer creates a silky smooth canvas to apply and enhance your make up. This primer felt amazing and definitely helped to preserve the make up throughout the day. I really liked this primer because I personally prefer primers that give you a smoother canvas rather than tacky. I give this top marks 10/10. Next we went onto the eyes where Sophie further primed the eyes with their Diorskin Forever Undercover concealer. Sophie used shade 20 which is a light beige. This concealer is perfect to hide my dark circles and any discolouration on the eyelid and around the eye. I actually have this concealer at home and its definitely in my top 3. It really brightens the under eye and is full coverage. It is such a reasonable price at just £21. For my full review click here. Sophie then went onto create a gorgeous eye look using the High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette in the shade 676 In Flame. This comes in gorgeous shades from a bright coral colour to a darker brown. These eyeshadows are insanely pigmented, have spectacular staying power. It looked perfectly from 2pm until midnight when I removed it. It has a really creamy formula and blends really well. I love the look Sophie created especially the coral which really made my eyes pop. These eyeshadow palettes retail for £47.50 and have lots of different colour stories. They are up there in price but the quality is amazing. I love how compact they are which makes them perfect for traveling with. I give this 8/10 and I can't wait to add some more to my collection. We then carried on with the eye's using Diorshow Pro Liner in black. This again remained looking perfect throughout the day. A perfect matte black liner and really reasonably priced at £20. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a new eyeliner. This gets top marks at 10/10 and I have actually purchased this since reviewing it. We then moved onto the brow area where Sophie created some gorgeously full eyebrows using their Diorshow Brow Styler in shade 003 Auburn. This retails for £20 & I loved how my brows looked so much that I purchased myself the styler to recreate the look. My eyebrows where one of my favourite parts of the look, they where very different to how I do them normally. The styler creates gorgeous natural looking brows. It once again gets full marks! 10/10 We then went onto the face and we used one of Dior's new products! The Diorskin Forever Unercover in shade 025 Soft Beige. This retails for £34 for 30ml. This foundation is medium to full coverage and it made my skin look very natural and matte which I love. It takes a while to set so you can play around and move it without ruining your make up. The foundation looked perfect throughout the day, staying in place and creating a gorgeous veil over the face which looked like a second skin. I like this foundation and I may purchase this in the future. I give it a 8/10 just because I do love a full coverage foundation and this doesn't quite give me that, especially under the eyes. We did of course go in with the concealer again to try and cover any imperfections that where coming through the foundation and also to help carve out the brows a little more. After this we went onto warm the face up and bronze using Diorskin Nude Air Glow in shade 003 retailing for £36.50, this gave such a gorgeous bronzed look to the face, creating more definition and lasting all day! I highly recommend this powder as it really did stay in place all day. Top marks once again 10/10. We continued on the face by using a blusher to add a little colour to the checks. using Diorblush in shade Coral Crush 676 this retails for £33.50 and although it looks a very vibrant colour, you only need a small amount to create that gorgeous flash of colour. It is very pigmented and again lasted all day. They really have some gorgeous shades in their blusher range and are well worth checking out! 9/10 Next we went onto my favourite part of applying make up, the highlighter! I absolutely love a blinding highlighter and Dior's Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer does not disappoint! This retails for £42 but does come with a kabuki brush and gorgeous pouch. I previously purchased the shade 002 and it looks beautiful! The highlight is buildable from a natural glow to a really blinding highlight. It looked just as beautiful at the end of the day as it did when applied. I highly recommend this, especially if you love highlighters. I give this a 8/10 just because of its high price point. Last up was the lips! Before we put the lipstick on we lined the lips with Dior Contour Lip Liner this retails for £21. We decided to go for a nude lipstick as I had such a bold eye. I was so excited as we got to use Dior's new Addict Lacquer Plump. This retails for £28.50 which I think it's a reasonable price for such a good product. We used shade 426 "Lovely D" which was a gorgeous mauve nude. It really went well with the look Sophie created. The lacquer was really comfortable to wear, it isn't sticky & doesn't create a weird film on the lips. It has a gorgeous shine that really catches the light. I don't think that it is long lasting unfornately but it really is a gorgeous colour! Because it didn't last very long I do feel like it looses a few points therefore I give it a 6/10. There we have it, a full look by an amazingly talented Make up artist. I had such fun going through all the new products, it was a fun experience and Sophie made it so enjoyable, she's so full of knowledge and makes it so easy to ask questions and talk to. It really was a fun experience and I cant wait to see all of your guesses at how much my face is worth? Here is the finished look! We have a fun announcement for you guys at the start of May, so make sure you keep a eye out for that! I really hope you've enjoyed a little insight to getting your make up done at a counter and my review on some of the new Dior products. I will reveal " How much my face was worth" in my next post!
