Hey Guys! O My Gosh!! I cannot believe that another month is over and we are heading into the middle of the year already! I am looking forward to summer evenings and better weather! Well May was the month that I became 26! I'm on the way to 30 and that is scary! This month I have a lot of favourites so I am going to jump straight in and let you guys know what I have been loving and also what didn't work for me. Favourites First on my favourites should come as no surprise! Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. 125 ml for £23. The price point for the amount of product you get it is amazing. I have used this to remove my make up every time I have worn make up, it melts it off which such ease! It is kinder to my skin, it leaves it cleansed, hydrated and so smooth. This product is a full 10/10 for me. I absolute love it and can't recommend it enough. Check out my full review here. Next up we have a product from one of my favourite brands - Anatomicals! I have been using their cruisin' for a snoozin' sleep balm for a few months, I purchased it from Superdrug for £2.49 for 20g and it has lasted ages! I have real trouble with sleeping because of illness and medication. This isn't a miracle worker where it makes you magically fall asleep but it does relax you. It has a gentle scent of lavender which is known for relaxing. I just gently rub the balm into my temples and other pulse points, in small circular movements. The next product isn't strictly make up but it is make up related! The Real Techniques Brush Cleanser. This brush shampoo is hands down the best I have ever tried! The gel is easy to work with and a little goes a long way, It cleans even the densest of brushes, it takes no time to work in and clean away all make up, My brushes feel so soft, the product doesn't dry them out and the fragrance is a gentle aroma and really does leave them smelling and looking brand new! I purchased this from Superdrug for £7.49 for 150 ml of product, because you don't need a lot it is going to go a long way! Next we have Tarte's Rainforest Of The Sea Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette Vol 2 purchased from QVC at L32.50, I was lucky enough to receive this as one of my birthday presents from my amazing other half. ( He's fairly good at listening to my hints!) This palette is absolutely gorgeous. It has 4 beautiful highlighters incased in gorgeous packaging. The formula is so buttery and full of pigment. You can really get a blinding glow, that you can customize by dipping into all shades. I have a full review on this product, click here to view. May must be the month for highlighters because the next product is Jouer's limited edition Skinny Dip powder highlighter bought from Cultbeauty at £19 for 4.5g of product. This product is absolutely beautiful. I love the formula and how you can really build this product up to be absolutely blinding. I love the peachy gold tone that this product gives you. The packaging for this product was amazing, I loved the holographic print on the front of the outer packaging. For my full review click here, My last favourite is another birthday present again from my other half. The GHD Aura hairdryer for £145. My last hairdryer blew up after 4 years of solid use. I was in desperate need of a new hairdryer and this one was an upgrade from my last model. This hairdryer is so powerful and dries my long hair so quickly. The new motor in this hairdryer is so quiet you can barely here it. The hairdryer is lightweight and has a 4m cord so perfect for using anywhere in the bedroom. This model gives you such better control of the air flow and allows you to style your hair while drying. My hair has less static with this hairdryer and I just love how quickly my hair dries. If your after a new hairdryer then definitely check the GHD website out because they are brilliant hairdryers! Fails So unfortunately not all products that I purchase work for me, that doesn't mean they wont work for you but they're just ones I wouldn't recommend. First fail of the month is Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette which I purchased from Superdrug for £6.49, This palette is so chalky, as soon as you run your brush against the product all of the powder blows up and goes everywhere. When applied to the check it just looks like you have white powder or pink powder. There is no glow what so ever. It is a really disappointing product, it doesn't illuminate or highlight and it creates such a mess! My last fail is a product from Holland & Barrett called Ecodental Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste for £4,49. Charcoal is an active ingredient in this toothpaste so not only is this meant to clean your teeth, remove plaque and everything normal toothpastes do but it's meant to help to whiten your teeth, Now my teeth are fairly white anyway as I have always looked after them, But I see no difference from when I started 6 weeks ago! I still have some left so I will continue use to take an after photo and see it there will be any difference, I will keep you updated on social media! This toothpaste does make my teeth feel clean but no more than any normal tooth paste. It also leaves an awful taste in my mouth! That's all for this months favourites and fails. I hope you've enjoyed seeing the products I am loving and those that didn't work for me.
I can't wait to try out new and exciting products through out June so keep your eyes peeled for those exciting reviews! I am always looking for new products to try so if you have any suggestions or you want me to test something out just let me know down below! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog! Hey Guys, I am so excited to be doing this review today! So lets jump straight in! Jouer have just released a whole limited edition line based upon their best seller Skinny dip, which was originally a lip topper which is a weightless metallic shimmering gold nude which you can wear on it's own or on top of your favourite lipsticks. They have launched everything from a foiled eyeshadow palette, lip toppers, lip cremes, powder highlighters! I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of their highlighters in the shade skinny dip! With this product you get 4.5g for £19 I purchased this from Cult Beauty here in the UK. The packaging is absolutely beautiful. The outside packaging is gold with holographic gold bubbles! It looks stunning. With the packaging of the product a mirrored component. The product itself absolutely wowed me when I opened and swatched it. The consistency is so creamy and buttery. The glow is a shimmering golden peachy glow, which is highly pigmented and buildable to make it an absolute blinding glow from within. When applied it melts into the skin and gives such a flawless glow and when you use setting spray to complete the look it re-ignites such a beautiful glow. I have been wearing this non stop and it has fast become my favourite! It is longwearing and looks just as perfect which taking the make up off as it did when I applied it. So this highlighter gets a full 10/10 from me, I love the formula and the creaminess of the product. I love the glow that you can achieve with this highlighters - it is an all mighty glow and I love the end result! From application to removal it looks flawless and doesn't show any texture up. Below is a swatch both with and without the flash. Until Next Time , Kayleigh 💕
Hey guys! Today's review is on a new product by Anastasia Beverley Hills & something I am so excited about. So ABH recently came out with new blush trio's and they looked amazing so I had go order one as soon as they became available. I ordered them from Anastasia Beverly Hill's UK website, they retail for £27 there is 5 different trio's to chose from. I went for Peachy Love as I personally prefer peach tones for my blush. In Peachy Love you get 3 different shades. Nectarine which is a matte dusty peach. Ginger which is a matte coral tone and finally Miami which is a brighter peach tone with a golden sparkle. The packaging for this blush trio is amazing from the outer box which ad the signature gold writing and matte black to the outer packaging on the trio. As you move the trio small ABH logos appear in the light - the attention to detail of this product is amazing. I am so impressed with the packaging.
I love the shades of this trio. They are all so pigmented and give amazing colour payoff. You only need to gently run your brush along the shade you've chosen as it can pick up a lot of product, although you can go in with a gentle hand and create a gorgeous natural colour or you can build it up to a more intense yet seamless finish. There really isn't any negatives about this product. It definitely gets a full 10/10 for me. The colours are gorgeous, the pay off is brilliant and gives you amazing results. This has definitely become one of my favourite blushes already. So if your on the look out for some new blush I highly recommend this for you. Until Next Time, Kayleigh. ❤ Hey guys, So today's post is a little bit of a different post. I wanted to share with you about my nails, how my Crohn's affects them and what I do to keep them looking healthy. So for those of you that don't know, I suffer from a chronic condition called Crohn's Disease. This affects many things in my life including my nails. Because I am unable to absorb all the necessary vitamins and minerals through my intestines this can lead to problems in other area's of my body. My nails have slight clubbing to them, clubbing is a deformity of the nail, the severity of it can depend on what medical issues you have. I am quite lucky that I only have the first stage of clubbing and that is that the nail bed is softer than it should be. I also have ridges/ lines across my nails which are associated with many severe illnesses. Crohn's Disease is an auto immune disease and those who suffer from Crohn's can often have Psoriasis, which I do. This also affects my nails, this causes my nails to have splits and pitting of the nail, which can look slightly white. So with all of this affecting my nails, it's safe to say they are very weak, they don't ever reach a good length by themselves and break/split off a lot. I try to help my nails as much as I can with drinking milk as calcium is vital to nail growth. I don't bite my nails. The main thing that I do is have my nails done by a wonderful nail technologist and old school friend, named Charlie. I have acrylic overlay, which means that I have acrylic just over my natural nail to help give it strength and keep them all uniform. Then over the top of the acrylic I will then have Gel polish over the top to give it the finishing affect. If I didn't have my nails done, they wouldn't grow and would just keep breaking, it's not only to keep them healthy but also because it is my own treat each 3 weeks. A little bit of a pamper can really do you good. I am very lucky to have a nail technician that listens to what I want and also understands how poorly I am. This is my nails this week & I am completely in love with the colours! I have also included a slideshow of previous colours I have had. Until Next Time, Kayleigh ♥ Hey Guys, As you all know I am on a search for the perfect mascara as I am yet to find it! Today's review is on NYX stacked mascara which I purchased from Boots for £6.50. It is also available at Asos, NYX website and many more. What first attracted me to this mascara was the wand, it has 2 different lengths of bristles. When using this mascara the short bristles are perfect for getting in close on the shorter lashes such as the corners and the lower lashes. Then the longer bristles are perfect for the upper lashes. They coat the eyelashes perfectly. The lashes seem longer and slightly fuller. Because the first coat didn't exaggerate my lashes quite enough, I decided to do another coat & I am glad I did! It is completely buildable which mascaras aren't always good at building coats without getting clumpy, this is an exception. I ended up doing 3 coats and my lashes where long, had volume and didn't look clumpy or spider like! The colour is a ultra black and very dark. There isn't any fragrance which is a positive for me. I have worn this mascara for a whole day and it hasn't budged, there was no flaking or fall out. It stayed in place for the whole day so it is definitely long lasting. Yet it is easy to remove when it comes to removing my make up, it just glides off with Clinique's Take The Day Cleansing Balm. The packaging is cute yet simple. I love the purple colour! I give this a 8/10 just because it takes more than 1 coat and a little time to get the product on and looking good. So I am still on the look out for Mascara's if you have any suggestions leave them below for me to check out! I can't wait to try some more out especially from this line by NYX! Until Next Time, Kayleigh ♡ Hey Guys!
Today I wanted to do a review on a product that has been all over the internet and used by beauty guru's world wide, Having seen it everywhere I decided that I had to try it and purchased it, you can get it from lots of different shops such as Debenhams, Boots, Clinique.co.uk and many more. It retails for £23 and that's for 125ml of product. So you only need a small amount on your fingertips and massage in small circular movements around the face and neck as needed. You then rinse off and dry, This balm is like magic! I can honestly say that this product is absolutely amazing!! This make up remover goes from a solid balm into fluid. I have used the balm on both a full face of make up and on natural make up and it removes all make up with no trace left with ease. It removes even the most stubborn of make up such as liquid lipstick, water proof mascara and dark eyeliner. When massaging the balm in circular movements, I wait a little while before washing off, this helps to really melt the make up off. It cleanses the face and leaves it feeling refreshed, clean and nourished, My skin always feels soft, it looks radiant. I was afraid that the balm would leave my face feeling greasy but that really isn't the case. Because it removes the make up so easily, my face isn't sore or being pulled around or scrubbed to get make up off. It really gives you a deep cleanse with quick results. There isn't really any aroma to the product which for me is a bonus. I love the packaging it's like most Clinique products, simple but elegant and I love that shade of purple. This product for me gets a full 10/10 and has worked it's way into my holy grails and become a vital part of my skincare routine! I would recommend this product for all skin types as although its oil based it really isn't greasy. My skin can be sensitive and it has been loving the product. My skin is smoother and feels cleaner. Because you don't need to scrub the face it doesn't cause irritation and wipes off easily leaving no product behind! Let me know if your a fan of the product in the comments down below or tell me if you don't think its worth the hype? Until Next Time, Kayleigh 🎔 Hey guys!
Today I have a review for you from the Company Smashbox founded in 1996 by 2 LA brothers and great-grandsons of Max Factor. Created for long lasting results and flawless finishes. This is a new company to myself , in the sense that I haven't tried any of their products before , so I thought I would start with one of their best sellers the "Photo Finish Foundation Primer" & you may have seen it in my Beauty Haul last week. I have been using this primer for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I love it! It is definitely a keeper and will be staying as a firm fixture within my make up collection. When using this you only need a small amount, the size of a pea and it will do your whole face. It's a transparent gel. It glides on the face effortlessly. I always let my primer sit for a few minutes before applying my foundation and in this time this primer has set beautifully. It feels like it gives you a beautifully smooth canvas to start with and my make up goes on flawlessly. This primer helps to keep my make up in place and last a full 8-10 hours without moving and still looking like a fresh application. I have also noticed that most of my foundation sits so much better on this primer, it blends easily and even powder looks flawless! I feel like it minimized pores and evened my skin tone out really well. There really aren't any negatives to this product and it definitely fulfils the promises it claims on their website. I give this product a full 10/10 you can't ask for much more from a primer and is definitely worth the £26 for 30mls or if you want to give a smaller size a go you can get it in their travel size at £13 for 15ml. I highly recommend this product if your in search for a new primer. Until Next Time, Kayleigh ❤ Summer is coming and sandal season is upon us. We often neglect our feet over the Winter, so when it comes to sandal season we need to up our game to make sure our toes are flip flop ready. 1. Exfoliate = After months of being kept in Winter boots, it's more than likely there is some dead skin cells that need removing. So pick up a foot file and scrub those cells away. 2. Soak Them - Treat your feet to a deep clean by soaking them in a foot spa. Soak them for around 20minutes. For a more relaxing treatment add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender. 3. Spring Clean - After soaking, tend to your feet for a spring clean including exfoliating like step 1. After exfoliating tend to your cuticles, apply cuticles remover. push back the cuticle before gently trimming with cuticle clippers to remove excess cuticle. 4.File - Once your feet are dry, you'll want to clip your nailsinto a straight lineto help prevent ingrown nailsand have them in a great shape for when they are in flip flops. 5. Add Paint - This completes the look and can make the world of difference. When painting pay extra attention as to not get paint on your cuticle or surrounding skin. Make sure you apply a base coat to your nails before your chosen polish as to not stain your nails. 6. Moisturise - This will help your skin recover after exfoliating, Pau extra attention between your toes as it's often extra dry as it doesn't get any air. Use a extra rich moisturiser before bed a few times a week to get your feed extra soft and summer ready. Repeat these steps to get your toes tip top and ready for Summer. Salon Treatments can really help as well, such as Pedicures, Heated Pedicures and Callus Peels which removes unwanted dead skin cells. I also have found a foot mask, from B&M by Coconut Water for just 99p , all you do is unpack the little foot boots, which are a good size, pop them on and leave it for 20 minutes. My feet afterwards where so smooth. Doing this once a week will help to put moisture back into your feet after exfoliating. Hope this will help to get your feet Summer ready!
Until Next Time, Kayleigh ♡ I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw QVC had a fairly large range of Tarte products. Especially the Rainforest of the Sea range. My favourite part of make up has to be highlighting, contouring and blush. The packaging of this product is beautiful, even the outside packaging is amazing. As I said this was purchased from QVC.co.uk for £32.50. It has 4 shades; daylight a white gold, skylight a pearl shade, spotlight a rich champagne shade, candlelight a rose gold. All 4 shades are beautiful in their own way, however my favourite is spotlight the champagne shade it looks gorgeous especially with a tiny hint of skylight the pearl shade and it looks amazing to add this to the highest part of cheek bone and very end of the nose. Never be afraid to use more than 1 highlighter and create your own kind of special glow. These highlighters are very buttery, almost like a creamy texture, and glide on beautifully. They are a more natural glow but are buildable and can be blinding! I don't suffer from texture and these highlighters don't seem to pick up on any either.
This palette is far from chalky which I hate in a highlighter, it just gives a beautiful buildable glow. I have worn the product all day and it still looks just as blinding at the end of the day as when I put it on, so it is extremely long wearing. Like most highlighters there is a kick up off product when used and can cause the palette itself to become dusty, however if you use a lighter hand when picking product up this does help to eradicate most of this problem. I have a medium skin tone and all of these shades look good on my skin, i do feel if you have darker then medium skin tone some of the shades may look a little like white powder on the face. All together I am completely in love with this palette and all 4 shades. From the super cute packaging to the amazing formula and long wear. This product is also perfect for travelling with as you can create different tones with the 4 shads. This product gets a 9/10 as the only thing that could be improved is the kick up when going in for the product. Do you have this palette? What are your thoughts? Let me know down below and until next time, Kayleigh ♥ Hey Guys! So today is a bit of a different post .. I have recently got a few beauty items and I thought I would do a haul post, show you what items I've got & what could be appearing in some up and coming reviews and posts. Some of these are favourites that I have recently repurchased and will be making an appearance in posts and some are new products that I am getting ready to review and are completely new to me. First we have Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer,Classic. This is the oil free one, I got it in the mini as I wasn't sure if I would like it, I haven't tried it enough for a review yet but things are looking good for this becoming a permanent fixture in my make up collection. The mini is £13 for 15ml. Second up is Cover Fx Cover Click, purchased from BeautyBay at £15 in the shade N10, this is a new product to me and in face a new company, I haven't ever tried any of their products, so I am excited to give this a go! This is a foundation stick which is meant to give you full coverage. Next up is another company that I haven't tried yet called Zoeva, I purchased the Rose Golden Blush Palette from Beautybay.com at £13. This contains a trio of products; a highlighter, blush and matte bronzer. Perfect for the summer & the packaging is beautiful! Next up is a company that I have a few products from, which I love, it's Anastasia Beverly Hills. The company may not be new but the product is; I purchased 2 lip glosses, in the shades Kristen & Undressed. I have tried them quickly and so far I love them! Then we have Too Faced Melted Metals in the shade Debutante, You can buy these online at Debenhams.com.I have tried several different Too Faced products and in general I am a fan, I cant wait to see how this turns out! The next item comes under the umbrella of Tam Beauty a company that is the parent company of companies such as Make Up Revolution, Freedom Make Up and many more. This product comes under I ♡ Makeup, their highlighter the collection of "Goddess of Love" it is a triple baked highlighter and looks very promising! The next product is from Holland & Barrett, Ecodental Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste, I have just started using this and cant wait to see if it makes a difference. We have some Sleek blushers from Superdrug, in Antique and Suede. I have tried a few Sleek products but not their blusher. I'm excited to see if their colour payoff is as intense as it looks! They are such gorgeous colours. And last we have a Bronzer by Barry M in Deep Glow again from Superdrug. I have been looking for a bronzer with a deeper tone ready for the summer and when I start to get a tan. It is a beautiful shade and feels really buttery so far! I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the products I've recently bought and that will be popping up in some reviews over the next few weeks. Let me know if you've tried any of these and if they worked for you? Also let me know if you don't see any of these items over the next few weeks and want to.
Until Next Time, Kayleigh ♡ Hey Guys, So those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that 1 month a go I started taking Hairburst hearts chewable vitamins. With the hope to improve my hair. I honestly don't know where to start, I am so full of praise for this amazing product! I purchased them from Holland & Barrett although they are available on BeautyBay and their own website Hairburst. You just have 2 of them a day and they are shaped like little hearts, they are gummy texture and taste of strawberry mainly and a hint of blackcurrant. I love the packaging, its pastel colours, it's fun packaging and clearly states instructions. These Vitamins taste absolutely amazing. I have them beside me in bed, and take them every morning when I wake up. You just pop 2 in and chew! So for the results and review! I was quite sceptical when I first started these and thought that I wouldn't see much of a difference. My god was I wrong! My hair is stronger, it's fuller, I have way less breakages when styling and brushing. It has definitely helped with growth and to maintain healthy locks! I suffer from Crohn's disease and I'm on a lot of medication, for a short time I had clumps of hair falling out daily, it was one of the things that drove me to try Hairburst. Since starting these, about a week or so into having them, the clumps that where falling out got smaller and now I just have the odd strands which is completely normal especially for someone who has longer hair. They contain certain vitamins and minerals that are known to help different aspects of healthy hair such as; Biotin for longer and thicker hair, Zinc which reduces hair loss and Selenium which helps to clear the scalp. All together I think these vitamins are 100% worth their price of £19.99, they have completely changed my hair for the better and I am going to keep on taking them. MY hair just keeps getting stronger and stronger! I give this product a 10/10 and it's defiantly worth trying if your trying to get your hair back to good health, stronger and longer! I will do another review after 3 months of use to show you the results of long term use. Below are pictures of my hair growth over the month and you can see how healthy it looks, I would say my hair has grown at least a inch in the last 4-5 weeks!! Until Next Time, Kayleigh 💞 Hey Guys! Today I have a review for you from the brand L.A. Girl, founded in 1985. They have a wide selection of products available, the main retailer for the company in the UK is BeautyBay.com which is where I purchased these items from. The first item I am reviewing today is their Mascara Oomph'd in super black, which is one of their volume mascaras. This mascara is indeed a very jet black which is exactly what you expect when you see super. It says it only needs one coat but I disagree with that, I needed 2/3 to achieve long volatized lashes. However after those 2 coats my eyelashes where separated, lengthened and curled up. I was really happy with the way they looked. It didn't clump the eyelashes together or make them look thick and unnatural. It just took a few extra coats then stated. It felt lightweight, it lasted 8 hours without flaking or smudging and giving me panda eyes. When it came to removal it came off very easily and without pulling any eyelashes out. I simply left the cotton pad soaked in make up remover over the eye for 30 seconds and wiped it away with ease. I really like this product, its an absolute bargain at just £6, it's perfect for everyday use. For those reasons I give this product a 7/10. Next was L.A. Girl's Endless Semi Permanent Auto Eyeliner Pencil in very black. After reading the description I couldn't wait to try this product. It boasted to have high colour pay off that would stand the test of time. I wore this eyeliner alongside their Oomph'd mascara. It was a long day and the make up was on for 8 hours. However the eyeliner had pretty much disappeared at the end of the day. Completely vanished from my water line. When applying the eyeliner it didn't have a high colour payoff to start with and definitely didn't live up to it's name of "very black". It doesn't have high opacity either. It took a lot of going over and over to get any colour payoff the eyeliner didn't pull or get stuck , it just didn't deliver on the colour at all for me. What was left of the eyeliner did remove easily although there really wasn't that much to come off. This product is only £2.49 so you can't be to mad that it didn't work at that price. However I really don't recommend buying this, as it doesn't deliver on any of it's selling points, which was highly disappointing for these reasons I score this eyeliner a measly 2/10 - the only positives are the price and that it removes easily. So far I have really mixed feelings about L.A. Girl, although I do have a few more products from them to try. So keep an eye out for L.A, Girl Part 2!
Have a great weekend guys, Kayleigh ❤ Hey Guys.
So I thought I would do a bit of a different post and put together a wish list of make up, beauty and hair items. So lets jump straight in! First on my list is Chanels - Soleil Tan De Chanel - this is a cream gel bronzer, I have seen a few Youtubers rave about it, it looks like a beautiful shade and is a huge 30g for £36 a great amount of product for the price. Next up is one of Zoeva;s newer palette's the Rose Gold Palette. This has 3 shades in a highlighter, bronzer and a blush. It looks beautiful and I am yet to try any of Zoeva's products. I keep seeing Cover Fx's Perfect Setting Powder everywhere and it's getting amazing reviews. It had to make the list as I need a new powder and I cant wait to review this one! This next item has been on my list for quite a while, Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea twinkle lighting Palette Vol 2 it looks beautiful with some amazing shades. Highlighters are without a doubt one of my favourite products! Next is another new product this time by NARS the unfiltered 2 Cheek Palette this palette is a mixture of matte and shimmer and are mostly soft pinks. Next is Sol De Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, I have heard great things about this cream and it boasts to have some amazing ingredients and it's shortly going to be available at Selfridges and in a travel size which is perfect to try before buying the bigger size. The last on my current list is Clinique - Take The Day Off Balm, I have been after this product for a while, I have heard great things about this product and the way it removes make up! Over the next few weeks I will be ticking off some of these items and giving you some reviews! So keep an eye out! If you have any items you want me to review then go ahead and leave a comment below and I will give the item a go! Until Next Time, Kayleigh ♥ |
