Hey guys, Todays post is a bit of a different one & something I am hoping to do every month. I thought why not let you guys know what I'm lusting over, whether it be make up, home décor, films basically whatever is taking my fancy for that month! So with October being Breast Cancer Awareness I thought why not show you some amazing products that are in support of an amazing cause! First on the list is some products from GHD They have a beautiful pink blush edition to their collection, if any of your current heat tools have died then now is the time to go out and purchase these gorgeous blush models. They are donating 10% if the sales of these to Brest Cancer. Next we have some thickening spray by Bumble & Bumble. They are donating 20% of proceeds from the sale of this product to Breast Cancer. This product is great for thin hair and to add some lift. I love having hand sanitizers in my bag, sometimes I a bit of a germ-a-phoebe. So when I saw that 100% of the profits are going to Coppafeel I had to add these to my bag! From Merci Handy this is a limited edition collection so go grab them quickly! Next is one of my favourite's of the month from Bobbi Brown. This is a gorgeous pink blusher with a cute little brush it retails for £35 and is available from a number of different stores, including John Lewis, Debenhams & Harvey Nichols. 20% of all sales will be going Breast Cancer Research. Next we have BeautyBlender with a pale pink edition to their collection with 50% of the proceeds going to a organisation that support woman with Breast Cancer. Next is a gorgeous pink nail varnish by London Grace. This shade is named Kirsten after the founder with 30% of the proceeds in October going to the charity Breast Cancer Haven. Next we have Origins with Limited Edition Drink Up Intense Overnight Mask. £4 of each sale will go to Breast Cancer Research. This again is a limited edition product. I love how luxurious their products are, so you can help your skin while also donating to charity. Last up we have Philip Kingsley and his No Colour No Scent Shampoo, which not only is donating a small amount of proceeds to the charity Look Good Feel Good, but it also was designed originally for Philip Kinsley's wife, while she was going thought treatment for Cancer. It is super gentle, paraben, sulphate and scent free. I hope you've enjoyed looking through my lust list for October. I think its brilliant when big companies help to raise awareness and money for something that affects so many of us. So if your in the market for new products or trying any new items then what better reason then helping raise money! If you want to donate, help to fundraise or find out more information then head to Breast Cancer UK. These will be taking over from my Non beauty related favourites each month. So as you can see from the title this is a whole new type of the post. I am so excited for this new blog series which is taking over from the Non Beauty Monthly Favourites. I am excited because this shows how my blog is growing and how I am finding my own comfort zone. My blog is 6 months old this month and I could not be happier with how well it is doing.. My next step is to purchase my own domain name within the next few months. I put this off at first as I was afraid when I started blogging that I wouldn't be good enough & that nobody would read it. But I must be doing something right as every time I log on the number of subscribers and readers is going up.. Which to me is huge and I am so thankful to you guys for taking time to read me! I absolutely love blogging and want to continue to throw myself into it more. So over the next few weeks/months there may be a couple changes as I find my comfort zone and settle into a good routine and try new things. So keep your eyes peeled for some exciting things. We will be having our first giveaway soon, I have my first sponsor from a company coming up plus loads more! I look forward to starting these type of posts properly and bringing you exciting new content! Anything you'd like to see on here, then leave a comment and let me know. Until Next Time, Hey Guys! As you can tell my blog has had a bit of an upgrade and change around, its crazy to think that its only 5 months old but is growing so fast & I guess for a little while until I find the perfect style its going to keep changing around! So pleaseee bare with me! So from now on, not only will I be doing my beauty favourites but I will also be doing a separate favourites post for all unrelated beauty items, which you will be able to find in the Lifestyle tab. It will usually be published a few days after the beauty favourites! So keep a eye out! Without further a do let's jump into Junes Favourites! My first favourite is one of the most vivid roses I have seen in a long time. It was absolutely beautiful & I loved the pink shade!
Next we have a hooded throw from Primark - I am a massive Disney fan and I am loving that they have some of my favourite childhood films. So I had to get this Thumper ( from the film Bambi ) throw. It is so soft and thick. So it will be perfect for this Winter! I had to put Cheetos into my favourites this month. I have had a couple of packets & they remind me of Nik Naks but with intense cheese flavour! So you guys should know by now I am obsessed with socks! I absolutely love socks! Again these are all from Primark and feature my favourite childhood films! Who doesn't love Beauty & The Beast! Last but by no means least was my amazing Fiancé's birthday at the end of June. We had his brothers over for the weekend and we had a really nice family BBQ and spent some time together! I loved having family time! Keep a look out for next months favourites! Kayleigh Lisa 👑 Hey Guys, So recently I posted on my different social media channels that you could ask me anything! That's right absolutely anything you liked! So this is a continuation from those posts where I answer all of your questions! Feel free to ask anything you want in the comments and I'll get back to you or I'll create another post in a few weeks! Without further a do let's jump straight in! Q. How old are you? A. I have just turned 26 and I am now officially closer to 30 than 20! Q. How long have you been with your partner? A. I have been with Pete for just under 6 1/2 years! The time has flown by, I was just 19 when we met, it seems a lifetime ago! Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? A. This is such an interesting question, Hopefully my health will be on the up. Pete and I plan on marrying in the next 2/3 years. So hopefully in 5 years we will be married, have a baby, have travelled a little more and hopefully my blog will take off alongside being a make up artist, but this all depends on my health and my operations over the next 12 months. Q. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? A. I love where I live, Cornwall, England is a beautiful area. I have over 5 beaches all within just 10 minute car journey, you have countryside's and clean air. The only thing I find annoying is how far behind Cornwall is with make up,fashion and so on. But to answer the question I would probably stick to England and go to London to experience life in a busy city. Q. Favourite underrated product? A. Either Anatomicals Neroli body lotion because it is an amazing moisturiser and really hydrates my body, or Real Techniques Complexion sponge, similar to the beauty bender but softer, applies better and soaks up less foundation. Q, What is your blogging motivation? A. I think this is one of my favourite questions asked. I started my blog because I am currently unable to work due to different illnesses. Meaning I am unable to carry on being a make up artist which is my passion. I wanted a way to stay up to date with make up, with the trends and different products that came out. I have so much make up I thought it would be a good way to still be able to express myself and I can even do it from bed when I am unable to get up,which happens more days than I'd like. Since starting it and getting so many readers so quickly, to win blogger of the month in a blogging community and to have companies already recognising my blog and featuring the blog on their social media, then gives me motivation to carry on and keep growing, I find everything about blogging exciting, from planning blog posts, to taking the photos and making blog post go live. I love it all! Q. How has the beauty industry affected your life? Positive or negatively? A. This is a tricky question. When I first started doing beauty therapy at college I found it hard to fit in, I was the only plus size girl in my group. When I went into the salon environment again I was the only plus size girl, I was different from the other girls and they definitely liked to point it out. However I also noticed that I was getting more clients each week, some even said I was more approachable then the other girls, I found this reassuring. However since going into blogging and it mainly being about beauty, hair and make up, it has been nothing but positive. The girls that I have interacted with have all been so supportive and welcoming. I love that woman can build each other up and give each other support , that's a community that I want to be a part of. Q. What would your perfect Sunday plans be? A. I love a nice lie in, breakfast in bed, which my partner often does,( I know lucky, right!) Sunday roast, preferably my mums because she is an amazing cook, A nice walk on the beach or baking some home made goods. Maybe a film and a snuggle. Binge watch some Netflix. I love just chilling out and being at home. Q> You've said you have a few health problems? What exactly are they and how do you tackle them? A. I suffer from Crohn's disease - this is a long term condition, which causes inflammation of any part of the digestive tract. The symptoms can include but aren't limited to ; diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fatigue ( extreme tiredness). I also suffer from ; Intracranial Hypertension - which is a build up of pressure around the brain. The symptoms of this constant throbbing headache, blurred vision, temporary loss of vision, nausea and severe head pain. I also have , Vitamin B12 deficiency, Anaemia, Hiatus hernia, Chornic fatigue, Optical Neuritis and I also have nerve damage to my left hand from having carpal tunnel surgery. These are the main complaints that I have. However they often lead to other complications and I am on a lot of medication which has some severe side effects. Q. When are you getting married? A. We are getting married within the next few years, We of course want to get married as soon as possible but we know that we are content in our relationship and letting it naturally progressed. I have to wait until I have had my impending surgery and my health needs to improve before we are able to carry on planning our wedding. We are however extremely happy. Q. What is your best childhood memory? A. I have so many fond memories of my childhood. Most are centred around my Grandad. He once surprised me with a helicopter ride to the Isle of Silly and we spent the day together it was the perfect day out. At Christmas he would take me to Mc Donalds and we would eat it in the car before going all around our neighbourhood counting all the Christmas lights and searching for the best house lights. - This is my favourite memory, ever! Q. If you won the lottery what would you do? A. I feel like my answer will be the same as most other peoples. I would probably start by having my surgery privately, so that it's done and I can start to move on with my life. Then I would do all the normal things, buy a house, get married, buy some clothes, buy the family houses and cars. Then I would probably try to start my own make up company and open a few beauty salons. I would donate to charities and try to help other people as much as I could. Q, Who do you admire most in life? A. My mum - hands down. She is wonder woman. She is the most selfless person you could ever meet, she puts everyone before herself, she looks after my nan as her carer, She went through open brain surgery last year, she was so brave and fought so hard, She was back looking after others within weeks. She is the best mum I could ask for, she has supported me through everything in my life. She has never told me I can't do it, she's always pushed me to achieve my dreams. She is jus truly the best person you could hope to meet. .Q. What are you most afraid of? A. Death, I think it is more the unknown, I don't know what's next and that scares me. Of leaving the ones I love and also if it's painful to pass away? Or is it beautiful ? Like I said the unknown. Also Clowns - They are effing horrible!!!! Okay guys, that completes all the questions that you all asked me! Some of them where harder to answer than I thought they would be, but I'm glad I have done it. Hopefully it helps you to get to know the girl behind the blog! Like I said feel free to ask me anything in the comments below & don't forget to subscribe to my blog! Until Next Time, Kayleigh ❤ Hey Guys, I cannot believe that we are just a few days away from being in June! Where has this half of the year gone? Although I have had my birthday in May, it hasn't been a great month for me, with my Crohns being extremely active and suffering from Hypertension headaches! Let's hope June brings with it some gorgeous summer days! With that said let's jump straight into this instalment of Fortnightly Four! My Last Four Purchases 1. OK magazine - I hadn't read a magazine and just relaxed for a while without my phone on. So that what I did for an hour this week, got my gossip the old fashioned way! 2. OH K sleep mask - You've seen this in my favourites and I did a full review (Click here to give it a read)not long ago, but this is a mask I stay stocked up on! 3. Bobby Pins - Now I know every girl is the same - I have hundreds but can I find them when I need them?! 4. A whole load of Nip & Fab products - so keep an eye out for a full review soon! Four Item's I Cant Live Without When I Am Poorly 1. My hot water bottle - even in the summer I will have a hot water bottle, I'm not sure if it's a physiological need for it or whether it does help my stomach. 2. Blankets & Cushions - Now I am a huge fan of all things snuggly all of the time, but there is nothing better then being snug in bed with extra blankets and cushions all around you to give you that extra comfy feeling! 3. TV - This means all things Netflix, Catch up, On demand the whole shebang. Being poorly leaves you not able to go out often and having to stay close to the bathroom! So having TV you can pause and carry on with makes life so much better than missing those final 10 minutes of a programme. 4. Fan's - These amazing wind makers are the best thing since sliced bread! I often suffer from temperatures and getting hot, so having a fan on directed at me keeps me at a nice temperature. Four Wedding Decisions I Am Struggling To Make 1. Tiered cake or Cupcake tier's? 2. White dress or Non white dress? 3. Flowers or Artificial flowers? 4. Favours or Sweet table? I hope you enjoyed my random ramblings, I do seem to be surrounded by randomness where ever I go! Let me know if your married and what decisions you made. Let me know if there was anything you regretted and what your top tips would be for a bride to be? Don't forget to subscribe to my blog and I will see you soon! Kayleigh ❤ |
