Hey Guys, Today's post is all about Benefit's newest product their Hello Happy Soft Blurring Foundation which retails for £25.50 for 1 fluid oz, from their website, House Of Faser and Debenhams. Having caused a controversy with Benefit only releasing 12 shades of their newest foundation, compared to brands like Fenty who have launched 40 shades and is all inclusive. However 12 shades for a sheer/lightweight foundation shouldn't be compared to a full coverage range which needs to be a more exact match to customers skin. Sheer foundation means that 1 shade can work for different skin tones, each shade is fairly neutral and therefore will work with a wider range of skin tones. Benefit also stated that out of the 12 shades we have 3 light, 5 medium and 4 deep. Meaning the range is fairly spread out and will cater to a variety of people. I was lucky enough to get a sample when I visited my local Debenhams, I had enough to do my foundation over a few days, to give it a fair trial. This foundation truly is lightweight and is infused with smooth spherical beads that softly diffuse which creates a blurring effect. I 100% agree that it has a blurring effect and helps to minimise the look of pores. It looked to me more like a dewy finish then matte, it had a very radiant finish and gave a gorgeous natural glow effect. The first time I used it I did just 1 coat and really felt like it barely did anything other than add some radiance. It really looked more like a BB cream. I then went onto build it up over the next few days, which it did without problem, it then offered more coverage but too me personally it just didn't do enough for me to fall in love with this foundation. I could still see my dark circles under my eyes, any small imperfection I had where poking out through the coverage and it didn't really even my skin tone out which is a major downside. The foundation oxidises slightly once it dries down. It doesn't crease and works well with concealers which is a plus. I think if you are into lightweight and barely there foundation this will be right up your street, but for me it just didn't do enough. It feels very lightweight in fact it barely feels like you are wearing anything, it wasn't transfer proof at all though and when applied with a brush it was patchy compared to better coverage with the beauty blender. I do like the packaging, is fun and the little smiley face is adorable. The pink metallic is gorgeous and very eye catching. Over all I give this foundation a 4/10. I love the way it felt on the skin, especially on these hot summer days. It really did have a blurring effect which I liked and the radiant finish was a big plus, I also liked the packaging although slightly childlike. It's downsides; It smelt like chemicals, extremely badly enough to put you off, it did die down once it started to dry,. It didn't cover my dark circles or even my skin tone. It oxidised a little orange, and was fairly patchy on the skin. Personally this foundation isn't for me and I wont be purchasing it. Until Next Time,
